Your Requests Submitted Electronically

All information and documents included in your questions and requests sent through the interface in the "Contact" section of our website or to our firm's e-mail addresses are kept strictly confidential and not shared with any third party, even if an attorney-client relationship has not been established between us.

All information and documents that you have submitted to us and that should remain confidential by their nature, as well as personal data contained in the information and documents you have submitted to our firm, will be completely destroyed within 1 (one) month at the latest, unless they are required to represent you or respond to your request.

In case we represent you or provide consultancy services under an oral or written attorney agreement within the scope of Article 163 et seq. of the Attorney Law No. 1136, the documents and information that must be kept within the scope of the document and information retention obligation under this law and our document retention obligations under the Tax Procedure Law and related tax legislation will be destroyed after being kept by us for the periods specified in the relevant laws.

Job Applications

Resumes and attachments in job applications sent to Sonmez Law Firm's e-mail addresses will be kept for 2 (two) years solely for the purpose of being used in future recruitments and will be destroyed afterwards. Personal data you have shared in this context is also not shared with any third parties under any circumstances.

Disclosure

Your personal data is stored or backed up only for the purposes of fulfilling the requirements of the attorney agreement, fulfilling our obligations arising from laws, and protecting our legal rights and legitimate interests, and will only be destroyed at the end of the periods specified above.

Even if your personal data is based on your explicit consent, in cases falling within the exceptions specified in Article 5 of the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698, such data will continue to be stored for the periods specified above.

Your Rights

In cases where your personal data is stored or otherwise processed by us, you have the following rights:

  • To learn whether your personal data is being processed,
  • To request information if your personal data has been processed,
  • To learn the purpose of processing your personal data and whether they are used in accordance with their purpose,
  • To know the third parties to whom personal data is transferred domestically or abroad,
  • To request correction of personal data if it has been processed incompletely or incorrectly, and to request notification of the transaction made in this context to third parties to whom personal data has been transferred,
  • To request deletion or destruction of personal data if the reasons requiring processing have disappeared despite being processed in accordance with Law No. 6698 and other relevant laws, and to request notification of the transaction made in this context to third parties to whom personal data has been transferred,
  • To request compensation for damages if you suffer damage due to unlawful processing of your personal data
